Bryn is a qualified social worker and horticulturalist. He works in community development and has sat on a number of not-for-profit governance boards ranging from community transport, youth services, and community gardens.
David is a leadership and organisational development specialist with a background in psychodynamic practice. He has worked in Australia and internationally and has served on not-for-profit boards.
Kate is an early career social worker with an Honours degree in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Gender Studies. She has sat on a number of university and community organisation governance boards.
Gavin is a retired teacher of visual art and industrial technology.
He is involved in sustainable gardening methods and is a member of Beyond Zero Emissions - a think tank connected across Australian Universities for the reduction of Australia's emissions of GHG.
He has been teaching beekeeping for several years and gives talks to gardening / community groups and children of all ages in schools and is a member of the Amateur Beekeepers Association of NSW.
His latest claim to fame is “Love Your Larvae” when he appeared with Costa on Gardening Australia to talk about composting Hermetia Illucens or black soldier flies.
Romy is a 4th year social work student at the University of New South Wales with a particular interest in community development, social research and policy.
Romy has participated in research projects on a wide range of topics including: the unique challenges faced by pregnant women experiencing homelessness, the post-incarceration service landscape in NSW and the psychology of charitable giving.
Romy has completed our report on recent literature and the evidence base for therapeutic horticulture as community development, a copy of which can be found on our 'resources' page.
